Perfectly Pretty Pumps

We’ve already talked about our top 3 summer shoe wish list here and even about some gorgeous flip-flop styles in another article, but now we feel that it is time to dedicate a whole article to one of the most prevalent summer shoe styles out there that women of all ages turn to as the temperature rises, and that is the humble summer pump. Typically made from canvas and something between a boat shoe and a tennis shoe, for decades we have been turning to these dainty little shoes to see us through the spring and summer months. Part of the reason as to why we love them so much is probably due to their fantastic versatility. You can make them classy and preppy with some white jeans and a Breton sweater, or grungy with some ripped jeans and a tank-top. Even better yet, you can easily wear them with shorts and dresses for a summer look that is light as air. They needn’t be expensive either as you can see below with some of our favourite budget picks.

For a lovely pair that should just about see you into autumn, we love this bow detail pair from M&S. Bows are simply everywhere this season and this is a fun and flirty way to add a bit of femininity to your style without having to embrace a pussy bow! The elasticated front means that you can simply pull these on and go making them an easy choice of shoe for this summer. The cushioned soles have also been endorsed by the UK College of Podiatrists meaning that even if you are on the go on hard pavements all day, your feet will enjoy the right comfort and support. Available in sizes 3 to 8, and in a choice of 2 colours, grey and denim, these cost a very reasonable £25.

Combining the classic elements from an espadrille with an attractive slipper shape, we love these nautically striped slippers from F&F at Tesco. Blue and white stripes are always a classy and elegant look that is reminiscent of the great British seaside, and these will be a practical addition to your wardrobe this summer. They also cost just £10 meaning that you can easily add them to your trolley next time you’re doing a grocery shop, without breaking the bank!

If you really are a serious bargain hunter, then this final pair of shoes is definitely the ones for you since they cost a miniscule £4.75 in the sale. From reputable British jean brand Lee Cooper, these delightful slip on mule-pumps with their charming and on-trend daisy print are a lovely pair to be sporting this summer. Forget rubbing heels in hot summer heat since there aren’t any, and slip into them knowing that you look on-trend and fashionable but at a minimal price! Team with a floral dress for head to toe flower power, or with some trendy frayed hem washed out jeans for a laid-back beachy vibe.
